A poll conducted early this summer by Plastics Machinery & Manufacturing “reflects some cautionary behavior” in the sector, said Perc Pineda, chief economist for the Plastics Industry Association (PLASTICS). Nearly 40% of respondents told our fellow EndeavorB2B brand that they are spending about what they had expected on equipment so far this year, while 33% are spending less and one in four are spending more. The major pain points aren’t a surprise: Tariffs and supply-chain issues are both causing more than one-third of respondents to spend more on equipment this year while resin costs have pushed up spending for 55% of respondents.
